Ali Al-Zaidi surprises everyone by disclosing his financial assets and gives his cabinet ministers only one week for full financial disclosure

Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi submitted his financial disclosure statement today, Thursday, to the head of the Federal Integrity Commission, as part of his commitment to the principles of transparency and the implementation of the Commission and Illicit Enrichment Law No. 30 of 2011, as amended. Al-Zaidi affirmed his commitment to eliminating all cases of conflict of interest within the legally specified timeframes, making him the first within his ministerial cabinet to comply with the legal procedures. The Prime Minister had previously instructed members of his government to expedite the submission of their financial disclosure statements within no more than one week from the date they officially assumed their duties.

The Coordination Framework holds an emergency meeting attended by Al-Zaidi and affirms unity and the completion of the ministerial cabinet after Eid

Leaders of the Coordination Framework held an emergency meeting at the office of Hadi Al-Amiri, attended by Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi, to discuss political developments and upcoming obligations. The meeting included congratulations to Al-Zaidi on his government gaining the confidence of Parliament, while emphasizing the unity of the Coordination Framework and the continuation of joint efforts to support political stability and protect the country’s higher interests. The participants also expressed appreciation for the efforts of former Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani during his tenure, while the Framework decided to proceed with completing the ministerial cabinet after the Eid holiday in accordance with political understandings and constitutional procedures. On the security and regional fronts, the Framework renewed its rejection of any attacks targeting neighboring or Arab countries, calling for respect for state sovereignty and the completion of investigations and measures necessary to safeguard Iraq’s security and stability.

The Communications and Media Commission moves to regulate digital content and announces a special workshop on the challenges of platforms and influencers in Iraq

The Board of Commissioners of the Iraqi Communications and Media Commission, during its regular session chaired by Dr. Engineer Blasim Salem, announced the organization of a special workshop to discuss the challenges of digital platforms and content creation in Iraq. The workshop aims to address the أبرز issues related to digital content, social media influencers, and mechanisms for regulating the sector in line with applicable laws and regulations, with the participation of specialists and stakeholders in the digital media field. The council also approved the regulatory framework for fixed radio services, in addition to a number of regulatory and administrative files related to the Commission’s work, as part of efforts to develop the regulatory environment for the media and telecommunications sectors and keep pace with technological and digital developments in Iraq.

Al-Halbousi and Al-Zaidi stress accelerating legislation and completing the government formation to support reform and overcome current challenges

Speaker of Parliament Haibat Al-Halbousi met today, Wednesday, with Prime Minister Ali Al-Zaidi to discuss the general situation in the country and coordination between the legislative and executive authorities. Both sides stressed the importance of integrating efforts between the two institutions to move forward with legislating laws that support the government program and meet citizens’ aspirations, while emphasizing the need to complete the government formation and enable it to carry out its constitutional duties.
