His Excellency praised the efforts of the National Committee for Strategies in preparing this vision, for which the government took the initiative to form the first concepts in March 2023, and by focusing on major national axes, most notably the establishment of a productive, living society, a diverse and sustainable sovereign development economy, a smart and rational government, and a balanced regional and international positioning.Making youth the focus and goal, relying on digital monitoring bodies, long-term funding mechanisms in partnership between the public and private sectors, and effective international cooperation. The Prime Minister explained that the government had formed a national team at the beginning of this year, headed by the Ministry of Planning, the Advisory Board, and relevant authorities, to work with the McKinsey Global Institute to develop a comprehensive national vision and propose programs and solutions to diversify and restructure the Iraqi economy, reduce dependence on oil, increase private sector contribution, achieve sustainable growth, and implement development plan priorities. Mr. Al-Sudani emphasized that Iraq's Vision 2050 represents a comprehensive national approach in which the state, with its institutions, the private sector, universities, civil society, and youth participate. It also serves as a message to the world that Iraq is beginning to rise and regain its role as a productive and effective force for peace, stability, and prosperity.

Al-Sudani relieves the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Mishaan Al-Khazraji, of his duties and appoints Amer Al-Janabi as his replacement

Prime Minister Mohammed Shia al-Sudani issued a decision to relieve the head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan, Mishaan al-Khazraji, of his duties, based on a letter from the Iraqi Fiqh Council, which in turn nominated three alternative names to assume the position, in accordance with Article 4/Second of Sunni Endowment Law No. (56 of 2012). In turn, the Prime Minister appointed Mr. Amer Shaker Al-Janabi to assume the position of acting head of the Sunni Endowment Diwan for a period of six months. Al-Sudani directed the new head of the Diwan to work to promote moderate discourse, reject extremism, and distance this important religious institution from any political or electoral exploitation, thus enhancing its standing and role in society.

The Prime Minister and the Speaker of Parliament visited the weigh station to inspect the work and follow up on the procedures for monitoring truck traffic. It is worth noting that the entrance development works are to widen the main road to become 16m instead of 12m, and 8m for each lane, and it was completed according to the highest technical specifications to increase the road’s capacity, in addition to completing the entire road body for the outward and return lane with a length of 38 km for each side, with the construction of (21) pedestrian bridges and (4) overpasses for cars.
